Why Confident Voice Studio?

Why did I name the business with the word “voice” in it if we were going to teach other instruments like piano, ukulele, guitar and songwriting?

Let me share my thinking with you.

Confidence is defined as a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.

“Voice” is defined as

  • the right to expression in spoken or written words, or by other means
  • the right to present and receive consideration of one’s desires or opinions
  • an expressed opinion or choice
  • an expressed will or desire
  • expressed wish or injunction

A studio is a room or place for instruction or experimentation in one of the performing arts

Confidence isn’t just about singing or playing an instrument.

And neither is our studio. Though we focus on musical and performing arts related programs, we’re incorporating success principles, habit development, resilience, communication, emotional intelligence, growth mindset, and more into our client’s training. Younger students don’t realize it but benefit. Adult students appreciate the well-rounded education they are receiving.

Just knowing how to play or how to sing isn’t enough.

Because we may not play or sing as a career or even through our lives. But knowing how to stand tall, proudly, express oneself, and appreciate who we are and what we bring to the table, how to bounce back after a mistake or “failure” and how to set goals, make plans to achieve them, take action and adjust when there are obstacles (and there are always obstacles)…well, that’s the way you make a life you love.

After 14 years of solo entrepreneurship, a career as a certified professional coach, a twice-published author, a recording artist, an awarded business consultant, producer, director, writer, performer, choreographer, costumer, and a voice teacher and performance coach, I know that joy comes from making your dreams a reality and it’s impossible to do that if you don’t believe in yourself and have a support team of friends, family, and teachers and mentors around you.

And that’s what we help our clients and students do at Confident Voice Studio.

And it’s our purpose on the planet and our deepest joy to teach, coach and guide our clients toward their goals, however big or small they may be.

It’s an honor and a privilege.

Which musical instrument is the right one to start with?

It often happens that when parents decide to give their little one the wonderful gift of musical learning, they get excited about the instrument they like best.

Or suddenly, if they already play the guitar, they like the idea that they learn the same thing, because they already have the instrument at home.

But is this the best thing to do for a young child?

To be honest, no.

There are instruments that are suitable to start in the world of music at an early age, because they have certain characteristics, which are adjusted to the development needs of the child.
